Ultraviolet Dolls was opened on April 13th 2006. I’d been dolling since 2005 and at first put dolls on my cartoon doll site, Iridescence. But then decided a separate site, for just hand drawns, for be better.
The name for Iridescence came from a product from Lush, called Iridescent Glitter Bug. I wanted UVD to have a name that kind of went with that, and the glitter in the “glitter bug” was that gorgeous purple colour, like the colour white goes under UV lights. So the name Ultraviolet Dolls was born.
